About Me

Rachael Inwood: Community Musician

I believe that everybody is creative.

Everybody has a musical gift they can express regardless of any barrier that may stop them.

I enjoy finding ways of unlocking people’s potential and overcoming obstacles to participate in activities.

As a musician, I love how music has the power to reach people and help open up people who appear to be locked in their own world.

I have been working with adults with learning disabilities for over a decade and involved in different music and performing art projects with them.

Over recent years I have combined these two passions of mine. I have been providing musical opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.

As a piano teacher, I am a member of The Curious Piano Teachers community. This group offers regular training from leading experts in piano teaching and music education. I also work for them as their Community Administrator.

Over the last few years, I have worked for Milton Keynes Music Hub, Milton Keynes Arts Centre, Whats The Drama, and several schools.

Based in Milton Keynes, I have been playing music for over 25 years, both the piano and the flute. I also play the alto flute, sax, and a little guitar. I have been teaching music for eight years. I also regularly play in various types of bands and also write and arrange music. You can find a sample of my music here.

I am also a Bronze and Silver Arts Award Adviser.

When I am not involved in making anything music-related, I like to go for walks, enjoy good food with friends, and spend time with my nephew.

I am a member of the Musician Union. I have an enhanced DBS check and public liability insurance. I am also a youth mental health first aid champion.
